Does selling a home have to be stressful?

The short answer is, usually yes! Selling your home is often surveyed as one of the most stressful things to do in life. Usually, one step behind public speaking for most people.

Having said that, it is made much less stressful by choosing the right agent. By choosing the right agent you should get a realistic opinion on price, quality buyer feedback throughout the campaign, high class advertising and communication that is both honest and reassuring. A good agent will put you at ease early into the sale process, as it will be obvious that the agent is a superior communicator and has a tight control of the sale process.

My belief is to hire the right person in order to set a property up for the maximum chance of success. That way even if you don’t get the “WOW” price, you know that everything was done to put your home in the best possible position to maximize its chances of achieving the very best result possible.

Whether selling via private sale or auction you can’t promise to take the stress out of the sale but a well-run campaign by a professional salesperson will lower your anxiety levels and give you a feeling of ease that everything possible was done. That way weather you just hit your bottom line or sell for a hundred thousand over your wish price, you will be able to sleep easy. (Especially after the contracts are signed)

So in summary, depending on your personality and your reasons for the sale it is often stressful. However the stress can be managed by a well run campaign.
